Gunman Clive App Reviews

One day while I was browsing through the digital e-shop on my Nintendo 3ds I came across an indie 2d platformer called Gunman Clive. I didnt have much to play at the time so I decided that the small price was worth the risk to try out a new game. Gunman Clive was fantastic. I have played through it and its sequel at least five times each and Im still not bored. Finding out that Gunman Clive was also available in the App Store filled me with joy. Though the iPhone versions controls are not as tight as the 3ds version, this is still a fantastic example of oldschool platform in mixed with beautiful stylized graphics. Id recommend this game to anyone.

No sound!

This is one of the best side scrollers Ive played in a long, long time! OK, imagine if Castlevania from NES had met Cowboys and Aliens who had previously met Clint Eastwood and their common friend was Super Mario Bros! So they get married, they have a kid and they hang up with their friend once in a while. This game is the kid! This game is so awesome I cant only describe in words, you have to see for yourself. But dont you think this is all bed of roses and breakfast in bed, oh no, like Castlevania, this is a hard as hell SOB, and youll die a lot before you manage to complete it! The good thing is that you have infinite lives! Theres only one flaw, I guess. Theres no save point. When you die, you have to start the level all over again. But anyway, its a great game with awesome soundtrack that seriously deserves our attention! Check it out!

Fantastic

Original graphic style, nice music, good controls and, most important, excellent level design. Recommended!

Its a great little platformer with extremely charming art design and a smooth feeling, however, there are some minor flaws. The bad: the d-pad doesnt work that well for me. Its locked in the lower left corner (should be easy enough to fix to make it an option to realign it?) and IMHO its a bit too small to allow for proper fast movements. However, that is most likely a limitation of the platform itself. Also, no checkpoints are included, which can make it from frustrating from time to time, but its a minor oversight - there are way harder platformers out there, still. The good: It looks FANTASTIC. The western style looks amazing, including soundtrack and flimmer-background. Also, the game feels very smooth, in a sense that the animations are very well done and realistic. The levels are challenging (again, no checkpoints), but mostly fair. Again, it just looks and feels freat. TL;DR at the beginning, but even shorter: Get it, try it, for the price its definitely worth it!

Its overall a really good game, the animations are cute and really well done. The story is funny and challenging, but not to challenging. I hope more is added once this is more well known. This app has so much potential I really hope it goes far. Defiantly worth the price.

May be a bit short but more than makes up for it in charm, great controls and music, highly recommended

Only downside is it may be a little challenging for some, but its one of the best games in the App Store!

Capcom gives no love to megaman but if your looking for your blu bomber fix then this game is the way to go.

So fun! One of the best platformers I have played on i iOS. Controls great. A wonderful modern take on Mega Man.

Score: 8.5/10.0 (Silver Medal) Concept: Take the classic platformer formula and give it a new age western vibe. Graphics: A beautifully unique 2D/3D mesh with a confident limited color pallet sets this one apart from the rest. Sound: Surprisingly memorable 16-bit music and sound effects help bring the overall experience together. Playability: As with all touch screen platformers, its not as precise as using a controller, but its a minor complaint considering the ability to change control and visual settings on the fly. Entertainment: Definitely one of the better well rounded and games on the app store. Albeit a short game and a little frustrating at times, its still a fair game with a more than fair asking price. Replay: Moderate

This game is way to hard. The basis is fun and visuals are good but youll find yourself more frustrated than anything having to play levels 20 times each to pass. I cant even make it past the first world boss. Please fix ASAP

I find this game amazing except that I cant even get past the first couple of guys, the health bar should be much longer and clive should be stronger!! Fix this please.

In answer to some reviewers complanning that the game is too difficult, I just dont agree. I went through the first dozen of stages without too much difficulty. If think the most number of time I had to redoo the same stagenis 5 times max... So, the game is not too difficult its challenging, and I think this is why this game is so cool. Each actions you are taken count. Its like old MegaMan games and thatbis perfect. I dont see the point of playing video games that have 0 challenge to it... Go play The Life boardgame instead! :) The controlare very nice for touchscreen. Its not a gamepad, and at some occasions I died because of it, but mostly, each time I died or have been hit, it was my own fault. And on too of the nice game design and control, you are getting a game that have one of the best simple visual I saw on iOS. Amd the animations ar just fantastics!! Really great game!! Support the devlopper and buy it!!! We need more games like that!!!

Normally i never write a review, but when i saw people rating it 1 star i had to write a review about this awesome platform game. if people find this game too difficult its because they are babys and they never played a real platform game, probably they just played angry birds. This game is a example how platform games should be on ios. The controls are very very smooth and the gameplay is amazing. each level is different and gets harder and harder which is more challenging. The boss battles are great and unique. I hope the developer releases more games like this. Keep up the good work. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY

This is probably the best game for its genre on IOS. Some guys complain about its too difficult, I advice developer make a difficulty setting option for them.
